The Role

Inspirus is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to generate qualified pipeline opportunities for our employee recognition, incentive, and workplace culture solutions. This is an outbound pipeline generation role focused on identifying prospective customers, creating interest through strategic outreach, and qualifying opportunities for our Account Executives. The BDR will prospect across organizations of all sizes—from small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to mid-market companies and large enterprise organizations—adapting outreach strategies to engage a diverse range of decision-makers and business needs. The BDR is responsible for researching target accounts, prospecting through multiple outbound channels, conducting high-level qualification conversations, and scheduling qualified discovery meetings. While the BDR plays a critical role in the early stages of the sales process, they are not responsible for leading product demonstrations, managing the full sales cycle, or closing opportunities. Instead, success comes from consistently creating high-quality pipeline and ensuring a seamless transition to the Account Executive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships with executive stakeholders, and thriving in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales environment. As part of a collaborative and agile commercial organization, the Business Development Representative will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to maximize pipeline generation, improve customer engagement, and contribute to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate qualified sales opportunities through outbound prospecting activities including cold calling, personalized email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, social selling, event follow-up, and account-based prospecting.
• Research and identify organizations that align with Inspirus' Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), including small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), mid-market organizations, and enterprise companies investing in employee recognition, workplace culture, employee engagement, incentive programs, and performance improvement.
• Initiate conversations with HR and business leaders to introduce Inspirus' solutions, generate interest, and perform an initial qualification of prospective customers.
• Conduct high-level qualification conversations to understand organizational priorities, business challenges, buying process, timeline, and decision-makers before transitioning opportunities to an Account Executive.
• Schedule qualified discovery meetings for Account Executives, ensuring all relevant qualification notes and account intelligence are accurately documented in Salesforce.
• Develop personalized outreach strategies that improve response rates, engagement, and meeting conversion.
• Maintain accurate prospecting activity, account information, and opportunity updates in Salesforce while leveraging sales intelligence and engagement platforms.
• Partner closely with Marketing to follow up on campaigns, webinars, industry events, content engagement, and inbound leads.
• Collaborate frequently with Customer Success to share customer insights, identify referral or expansion opportunities, and ensure alignment across the customer journey.
• Stay informed on trends in employee recognition, workplace culture, employee engagement, incentive strategy, and performance improvement, as well as competitor offerings and market developments.
• Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly goals related to prospecting activity, qualified meetings, and pipeline generation.
• Participate in sales enablement programs, product training, coaching sessions, and ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, Inside Sales, Recruiting, Customer Success, or another customer-facing role.
• Proven experience conducting outbound prospecting and cold outreach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility with senior-level stakeholders.
• Exceptional active listening skills with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand customer needs, and tailor messaging effectively.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• High level of resilience, persistence, and adaptability in a goal-oriented sales environment.
• Comfortable working with sales metrics and activity goals.
• Experience using CRM and sales engagement platforms, with proficiency in Salesforce strongly preferred. Experience with ZoomInfo and HubSpot is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in HR Technology (HR SaaS), Employee Experience, Employee Recognition, Rewards, Incentives, or related HR solutions is strongly preferred, but not required.
• Experience selling B2B technology or SaaS solutions is preferred, but not required.
• Experience interacting with HR decision-makers, including HR Directors, Total Rewards leaders, Employee Experience leaders, CHROs, or other executive and C-level stakeholders is considered a strong plus.
• Experience using Salesforce, ZoomInfo, HubSpot, Vidyard, Outreach, Salesloft, or similar sales engagement platforms is preferred.
• Familiarity with account-based prospecting strategies.
• Experience supporting SMB, mid-market, and enterprise organizations.
